DONE!!!

I know it's not that interesting to everyone...but I finally finished organizing my photos that got all screwed up after our comp. crashed. It feels like a big weight lifted knowing it's not looming in the background of my to-do list. I AM DONE!!!! My girls lives (in pictures) are organized and in order. Hallelujah.

Get Lost

For the Lost series finale, we had a small get together. I can't call it a party, especially after I saw what my friend Lexi went to. (it was amazing) but we did want to celebrate. Although I really wouldn't really say celebrate, we weren't excited that it was the end....excited to see the end, but not for it to be over :( We had fun. My Aunt Jenni and Uncle Corey came with my sister and her husband. We had people dress up, but Dave, Corey and I were the only ones that did! (in all fairness we were also the only ones who have watched Lost from episode one...)
I borrowed rifles from my friend Karen, and this sticker was on one. we thought it was pretty funny.

We all got together for dinner before, but it wasn't any thing to do with Lost so no pictures..and Corey brought dessert. He made these cute polar bears, which are very much to do with lost! They we're a hit! And Aubree couldn't wait to eat her's. ( I made her wait until the next day because it was so late.)
So my uncle dressed up as Jacob. He totally nailed it. He was even doing the half awake/I don't look like I care face that Jacob always has, but I couldn't find ANY pictures of that face...

I dressed up as Kate. Stupid pictures don't show how curly I got my hair, but it looked awesome. And I rubbed my shirt in dirt, but I didn't do any sweat stains...I probably should have. I am not an actress, I couldn't keep a straight face with my uncle taking the picture, he always makes me laugh...

I didn't get ant pictures of Dave :( And he looked perfect. He dressed up as Locke.

We had a great time and are thankful for family tos pend time with. We're sad Lost is over, but it will be fun to go back and watch them all again. (Dave has already started and it's pretty amazing to see what details they correlate throughout the whole series.) If you want to see an amazing party you'll have to look here, at Lexi's. So cool!

San Diego part 2

Wednesday, May 12th

Aubree was making it a trend to wake up early. (which carried throughout the trip. The earliest being 5:45! ughh) Her and Brody were up EARLY every day and we couldn't figure out who was waking who up... Dave got up with them again. I slept in and around 8:00 I started feeling really sick. I got up to realize I had whatever was spreading around. Rae had been up all night throwing up, and I was glad that I didn't get that part. I luckily made it the whole day with out throwing up, but I was still very sick. Weak, aches and my stomach felt like someone had beat me up from the inside. Kind of like when you get food poisoning, but different. So I was down for the whole day. The whole family went and took the kids to the Animal Park, where you go on a safari. I was sad I had to miss it, but it was nice to have some quiet time to sleep and get better. They came home around nap time and said that I hadn't missed out on much and to not feel bad. Brody was the only one who liked it! While the girls napped Dave was able to have some relax time and went body boarding with the boys. The rest of the day was hard trying to help, but not really able to...hopefully a better tomorrow.

Thursday, May 13th
Rob had a work meeting so we had another day hanging around. Playing on the beach and going on walks. When the girls took a nap I was able to get my massage. It was so wonderful. The perfect gift. And I think Dave did more body boarding or sand castle making?

Well the boys went to see Iron Man when Rob got back and Michelle and I decided to take the girls on a walk. We wanted to get them a smoothie. So we walked up to the pier with my two girls, Brody and Addie. (with two strollers) it was quite a challenge. Once we got there everything was closed (5:00 on a Thursday??) so we found some locals and they pointed us in the right direction. We walked even more and found the place where they pointed us to, a coffee house with not much. Some one there told us there was a Dairy Queen close by, so we headed over. We had been gone a LONG time now but promised them a treat. We got them some dinner and ice cream and realized neither of us brought a phone. We borrowed one and after many attempts, got a hold of Dave who was now back from the movie and he came to pick us up. I was POOPED! Sheesh. Rob, Rae and Jimmy had gone out looking for us and by the time we all got back and got dinner it was around 7:30. Not an adventure I would want to try again. But it was a lot better of a day than the last.

Friday May 14th

Sea world part two. We went again to let those who only had a half day, be able to play. It was another fun day. We saw a lot more exhibits, and Aubree just LOVED the flamingo's. She thought they were so funny. We went on more rides and had more fun. By nap time we were ready to leave. We got back and put the girls down. And had some of our own fun. It was our last day and we had to make the best of it!! More beach, more sea shells and a sand castle making expedition for the boys. When I went to get Aubree up from her nap this is what I found...

She had pulled EVERYTHING from the room, the drawers, closet, and bathroom and had it snuggling with her on the bed. And in her hand a new bottle of hydrocortisone cream(not cheap) that she had used all up! At least she needs it...

That night Dave and I were up on the balcony with Aubree (Soph was in bed) and she was saying some priceless things. We were up 1 story and Aubs was saying how it would be scary it she fell. She said "I would hit my head so hard and I would crack my head open and bleed all over" I asked who in the world told her that and she said "grandma" Right.. like I believe that. Then Dave told me that the other day when he was up there with her she had said something like (if she fell off) her eyes would pop out and bleed and she would bounce into the ocean! Dave had also asked her who said that and she said "grandma" funny girl.

Later that night the boys had one final hurrah with the sand castles and I got a couple of pics. Dave and Jimmy were building defense walls and Mitch was making the castle. Cute boys.

Saturday, May 15th

Nothing too exciting. We woke up, packed, cleaned, distracted the kids with a sea shell hunt on the balcony... and were out the door by 10:00. To the car rental, shuttle back to the airport...check in, security and waiting. It's the waiting that kills me. There aren't any good distractions for the girls..just candy and toys and things I don't want to buy. Finally we got on the plane and we were better prepared. Aubree slept the whole flight and Soph did really well with her bottle. It was a piece of cake. We got off in Vegas and boarded another plane. Not so lucky this time. It wasn't terrible but not fun either. Finally we made it back to Utah and slowly eased back into our lives here. It was an amazing vacation. We all had fun and it was hard to leave.

San Diego part 1

Saturday, May 8th 2010
Aubree's birthday and the start of our adventure to San Diego. Our flight wasn't too early, we had to be there around 10:00 a.m.

We were the last to arrive and we got all checked in and ready to go. After passing security, and arriving at our gate we had a little over an hour to kill. We decided to get some food and let the kids run around until we got on the plane.
Cute Sophie and Kai waiting for the plane.

Once we got on the plane we let Aub's open one of her presents. We tried to make the day feel special even though it would be a travel day.
She had fun with her new sticker/coloring book. She even decorated the windows! It was fun to watch her react to the plane. The noises, the turbulence, the movement... she kept telling me how fun it was and that she LOVED being up high in the sky. Just like her Grumps :) The only problem was trying to keep her entertained. I'm glad she wasn't scared.

Sophie on the other hand did NOT have fun. she didn't understand why were trying to contain her in such a small area!

We had a layover in Arizona, where we didn't get off, but more people got on. It was a nightmare with the kids. Aubree ears hurt from the altitude change and Sophie just wanted to get off the plane. By the time we took off again Grandma had taken Sophie and we were able to have a nice second half of the flight.

Also on the flight was a cute family with twin boys just younger than Aubree. They were with us in the waiting area and throughout the whole flight....

Next we went to our rental car place and on the shuttle ride out there our niece Body exclaimed how fun this vacation was! We were all happy she was easy to please since it hadn't started yet!

At the rental place we ran into the cute family. What are the chances? We thought it was pretty funny.

A short drive later we arrived at the beach house. It had been a LONG day and we were all excited to stretch our legs. And what a place to do it in. It was absolutely amazing. The views were breathtaking. We all picked our rooms and got situated while Michelle and Rob went to Costco to stock up. When they got back we all ate some pizza, and I headed out with them again to the local market! I realized after unpacking a few things I forgot and I needed to get some things to celebrate Aub's birthday. When we got back we sang, had cupcakes and ice cream and let her open presents. I think she had a good day, and we did the best we could to make it feel special. We let them stay up a little longer to watch part of Toy Story 2 (one of her presents) snuggling with grandma *required* It was nice to finally put them to bed after a long day of travel and look at the beautiful views. (these are all from our balcony and out the dining room window)

Sunday, May 9th
Mother's Day

For some reason Aubree though it was necessary to wake up at 6:00 a.m. Not a good start to my day. Luckily Dave let me sleep in. When I woke up he gave me my present. A nice get away from the kids while he watched. And receive a massage. He had made sure there was a place near or beach house so I could go when we had some down time. I was very excited to use it!

It was nice to be with his family and spend Mothers Day with his Mom. It was a nice relaxing day involving Sacrament meeting, walks, naps, and lounging around. I called my Mom to let her know how special she is. And we had similar plans for the evening. The boys were cooking us a BBQ! It ended up being a nice day with family.

Monday, May 10th

Aubree again woke up around 6:00. Not fun. We found out that Addie and Michelle had been up all night throwing up. They both still wanted to try Sea World. So we got ready and left. They were having a promotion where you bought a day pass and got the season pass for the rest of the year. Which will be awesome for Rae and Jimmy who are moving there in a couple of months. And while we were there who do you think we ran into? Yep. he cute family with twins. What a small world. We were laughing and finally introduced ourselves (we had briefly talked before) but got to know each other a little bit. And they are from Draper. It was pretty funny.

Aubree had the time of her life. Sophie didn't really know what was going on. The Shamu show was Aub's favorite. She was in awe. She couldn't keep her eyes off the show, and when the whales started splashing she was laughing hysterically. It was more fun for me to watch her, than the show. I'd seen it before and now that the trainers don't get in and swim with them (who could blame them) It wasn't as good as in the past. (but still amazing) We got lunch at the Shipwreck Cafe and by then Michelle and Addie were ready to go back. (Addie had thrown up again) they took one car home and we decided to stay with Nicole and her family. The other group took Sophie home (to take a nap) so we had it easy. We went and played in the kiddie area for a while. Aubree loved all the rides. Her favorite was the flying ride ( like dumbo at Disneyland) I thought she was brave to go on all of them. Then Dave and I took Brody on Journey to Atlantis, which I was very impressed she went. It wasn't nearly as fun as the one in Orlando, but I'm glad we went.

We took the girls to pick out a souvenir (they both got Sea World Barbie) and then we went home. It was a good thing we got the season passes for those who only got a couple hours.

Tuesday, May 11th

Again Aubs woke up at the crack of dawn. And it was unfortunately my turn to get up with her. I do not do well with little sleep. I was pretty much grumpy all day. (Sorry Dave) I can't remember the days that we didn't go to a park, from each other..so I'll just list what we did. We took walks on the beach :) played in the sand with the girls, looked for sea shells, went to a park on the beach, walked to the pier, ate at the dinner on the pier, saw a creepy pelican who snipped at Mitch, went body surfing (the boys, it was WAY to cold for me), built sand castles (the boys) ran errands for diapers, wipes etc..., got slushies at 7-11 :) watched movies, tried to watch our t.v. shows (tricky with kids, I'm a very glad for our DVR) and just spent time with family. Most everybody got in the hot tub also. Again it was too cold for me and Aubree never wanted to so I had an excuse to stay out. It was kind of sad that on our beach vacation I didn't put my swimming suit on once! But I had plenty of fun other ways!

The Shamu show (in part)

Feisty Sea Lions

This shows how truly amazing the view was. Unforgettable.

7 years

...ago we were married. Happy Anniversary to us. It's hard to believe it has been that long. And at the same time it's hard to remember not being married. Funny how time works.

We've had our share of up's and downs. And everywhere in between. We've been blessed to have those moments we'll never forget and one's we hope to :)

Through it all we've had lots of fun. I feel very lucky to have found Dave early on in life.
To not know the stress of time in finding the one I want to be with.

I am very blessed to have a husband who works very hard, every day to have made my dreams come true. They were simple, but very important to me. ( have kids, be a stay at home Mom in our own home with our own yard, our own car...etc)

I love Dave and am very happy that 7 years ago we were sealed to each other. I am looking foreward to the next seven, and the next and the next...

We are celebrating tomorrow with a night off from the kids. Dinner and a movie. (Iron Man 2!!!!) I've boycotted presents. I just want to spend time together and plus we're going to San Diego Saturday and I am sure we'll spend plenty then...

Happy Anniversary, I love us!

Sophie Grace

Soph is becoming quite a ham. Here she is eating her granola bar, which she loves but always looks like this after so she doesn't get them too often. I wanted to get a cute shot of her mess, but once she saw the camera, All I got were the cheese faces....

One of her new favorites, crawling on my clothes dryers...and bouncing. She thinks she is so cool when she gets up there.
The other morning Aubree and I were feeling sick. I guess Sophie knew she would have to fend for herself, she came walking in the living room (where Aubs and I were laying on the couch) with a box of Captain Crunch. She would grab handfuls, throw them on the floor and then eat only the crunch berries. When I finally got up I found a few of theses piles around. Cute little Soph.

She loves sitting in weird places. An almost empty drawer, under the sink in her bathroom, in the Hutch with all the plates, and any where she can get her little body into. Sophie is such a climber. Quite different than Aubree ever was. She love to climb up on Aubree's bed with the help of the trundle, she loves to climb on her rocking chair, in and out of the tub, on the couch and really anything. I don't think she'll stay in her crib for much longer. I need to start lining the floor with pillows. It won't be long....
