Rapunzle party

RAPUNZLE.  Hooray!!  I was super excited when this was the theme Aubree chose.  There were so many good ideas, I wanted to do them all...but alas, I had to edit.  I don't have pictures of everything either.  I left that up to Cha.  But I did want to have something to share.  So for the partial decorations:

Happy Birthday Banner my friend Melanie made and let me borrow.

Rapunzle hair clips for each girl.

Special chair for Rapunzle.

Mantle
Another banner my friend made and let me borrow!  I had tea lights in all the lanterns, and it looked quite lovely, but they weren't lit yet...

The party portion was fun....the girls were so excited to meet Rapunzle.

She did awesome as usual.  And even adapted to Aubree when Aubs' was feeling stressed.

They sang, danced, learned how to be a princes...and were crowned.

We got group shots, but Aubree didn't want to be in them!

After a few poses without her, she decided she DID want to join :)

Next up: PRESENTS.

She was spoiled.  THANKS EVERYONE for all the wonderful gifts.

She couldn't have been happier on her special day.

Mothers Day Program

Aubree's school had a Mother's Day program today.  It was super cute, short and sweet.  Aubree was too embarrassed to participate.  But she has already sang me all her songs at home.  So I was good.

All she wanted to do was run off that chair and come to me.  I was real proud of her that she stayed in her chair the whole time.  It's hard and scary for her.

When it was her turn to come, she was all smiles.  I got another cute questioner and plant, like last year.
Thanks Aub's sure do love you.

5 years

Aubree's Birthday!  Another year come and gone.  Aubs' was so excited to celebrate.  I tried to explain that her actual birth-DAY was today, but her party was Saturday.  I think she was a bit disappointed..but we made it special.  When I put her to bed last night she said she was so excited to wake up and see what I did.  Uh-oh....I actually didn't have anything planned...cause of her party on Saturday!  CRAP!   Thankfully I had a few things downstairs.  I hung up some streamers from Sophie's party, I hung up a banner from her birthday last year...and made a "5" to go on her door.  When she woke up this morning, this is what she saw:

I ran out of white cupcake liners, and had to use polk-dot ones at the end!  I don't think she noticed.

Dave and I decided that Aubree would get her presents when he got home from work.  He leaves for work at 7:20 ish and Aubs is NEVER up that early.
So last night we told her that when Daddy got home from work he would have her special birthday presents from us.  However, she was so excited this morning, she woke up early.  She LOVED her special door and asked if she could please have her presents now instead of after work.  Since it was still in the 6:00 hour (gah!) we said okay.  The three of us headed downstairs and had a quiet little moment.

Dave left for work and I crashed on the couch while she played with her new toys.  (I was up until after 1:00 and then woken up around 6:30...not a good combo.)

She was content for a couple of hours while Soph and I slept :) then we woke up and got ready.  Grandma came out to take Aubs wherever she wanted.  She picked a bounce house.  Her cousin Kai came and the three of them had a blast.

They ate lunch there, and then we headed home.  On the way back both girls asked me if they could take a nap when we got home.  Why YES.  Yes you can.  :)

When Dave got home we let Aubree pick where she wanted to go for dinner and one other place.
She picked Zupas and "The Big Ther-a-ter" We hadn't taken them to see the Lorax yet so we headed out.

Aunt Cha and Uncle Eric came along for the ride.  It was a good day and got her pumped to have another celebration this weekend.

Aubree turned five on May 8th!  She is my emotional child.  On both ends of the spectrum.  She is very concerned about about others when they are hurt or in pain.  (Even if she is the cause of said hurt) She feels so much that she is easily brought to tears by touching movies and stories.  She loves all things princess.  Pink, purple, sparkles, glitter, unicorns, castles, handsome princes's, the works.  She still has crushes on the handsome men in her life.  Mainly Will (a cute "boy" in our ward...he's 20) She's shy and outgoing at the same time.  She's our little social butterfly.  She LOVES attention, but hates the spotlight.  She doesn't like to be laughed at, even when she's being silly.  She gets embarrassed really easy.  She is one smart cookie.  She absorbes information like a sponge.  She is very curious and asks a lot of questions about the world around her.  I try to answer them as best I can, but when I get stuck, my fall back answer is always "because that's the way God made it."  She will now say that to her self in answer to certain questions.  She is a very good reader.  She's a Mommy's girl and we have our own special nightly routine.  She loves music and her favorite song for a while has been "Hey, Soul Sister" before that it was "Mad World" (Adam Lambert version) and her newest love is "Time after Time" (Quietdrive version) She's a good little artist, and a lefty like her Mom.  She loves anything sweet, and I hear the phrase "Can I have a treat that doesn't have red 40?" a million times a day.  She loves to be outside.  A.L.L. D.A.Y. long.  She's a ring leader and usually has other kids following her lead.  She loves Mac n' Cheese, and cereal.  Her favorite places to go and eat are Zupas, Arctic Circle, and "The Party Place".  She loves ALL her Aunts and Uncles, but has a special relationship with her Aunt Cha.  She loves Polly Pockets and squinkies.  She names everything, and has very clever names. She loves animals.  She is creative and innovative.  She is extremely stubborn, and loyal.  She has hilarious fake words, and loves laughing at her own jokes.  Love you little ladybug!

9 Years

Dave and I celebrated our 9 years of marriage today.  (It's technically tomorrow though)  I can't believe it's been that long...and I can't believe I'm old enough to be married that long!  Where does time go??

So, to celebrate we had a fun night together.  We went mini-golfing...Dave of course whooped me.  But I suppose being the avid golfer that he is, it would be kind of sad if he didn't.

Then we went to dinner at Olive Garden.  It's been a while since we've been there and it's a classic.
We're nerds, and took pictures of each other while waiting for our food.

I was in a super good mood.  Besides being out with Dave, no kids, celebrating one of the happiest days of my life....Olive Garden brought back my ALL TIME FAVORITE dish, that had been gone for a few years.

And it kept getting better :) After dinner we went to The Avengers.  It was amazing.  I'll have to admit that after the opening scene when the "Avengers" title came on...with the music...I got goosebumps.  It was awesome.  And my favorite part...it was clean...minimal sexy stuff, not to much language (I would prefer none...but it wasn't over the top)

It was a fun night out with the hubs.
